Mariely Moronta-Sanchez

Mariely is the Director of Community Outreach for the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research at Rutgers University. She leads the design and execution of the community outreach strategy and oversees the Community Engagement Core.

Mariely has spent the last decade working on community impact projects through a racial equity lens. Most recently, she worked within the New York State legislature developing solutions that centered community, specifically divested communities in NYS. Before this role, Mariely developed and managed community partnerships for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. She has worked on a variety of community partnerships that focused on empowering the voices of people living in public housing, addressing the needs of youth impacted by violence, and connecting disenfranchised communities to resources.

As a former adolescent mother and first-generation immigrant of Dominican descent, she brings a passion and love for serving diverse communities. Mariely has three amazing teenagers and spends her free time driving across the tri-state area to get them to baseball/softball games.
