BMIHAI Trainee Symposium

The Rutgers Center for Biomedical Informatics and Health AI (BMIHAI) is hosting a Trainee Symposium on Friday, July 31, in Piscataway. Join us to celebrate Rutgers student successes, become part of the AI in Student Health and Wellness initiative, and join our community!

The event will feature presentations from BMIHAI postdoctoral fellows and graduate and undergraduate students. A discussion panel and open mic session will also highlight BMIHAI’s new collaborative initiative using AI to promote student wellness, health, and retention through the MyRutgers app.

The symposium will showcase projects from the following BMIHAI programs:

• Summer Internship: Rutgers undergraduate and graduate students are participating in a 9-week summer internship program focused on training students for careers in biomedical informatics and health AI.
• Summer Bootcamp: Rutgers Health postdoctoral trainees and graduate students participated in this summer’s bootcamp programs on “Hands-on AI-assisted Scoping Review” and“Machine Learning for RNA-seq.”
• Postdoctoral Fellowship: Postdoctoral Health AI Research (PAIR) Fellows are pursuing research projects with mentors from across Rutgers Health in areas including surgical and ICU care, motor and brain function analysis, and mental illnesses.
• Pilot Grants: Undergrad and graduate trainees participate in pilot grant projects led by interdisciplinary teams of researchers on topics including heart health, substance use disorders, and antimicrobial resistance.
