Donald R Hoover (Ph.D., Stanford, 1987; M.P.H., UCLA; 1979) is a professor of statistics and a core member of the Institute. His theoretical work has focused on cluster intervention studies, survival analysis, multiple comparisons and competing risks. Dr. Hoover’s applied research has covered infectious diseases, modeling/analysis of longitudinal data on disease, behavior and expenditures in large observational data sets. He has taught numerous statistics and epidemiology courses; been author or co-author of over 280 articles and chapters; been a co-investigator or principal investigator on over 60 grants; been an Associate/Statistical Editor of several journals; and peer reviewed for numerous journals and grant applications.
