Anum Zafar (MPhil, Kinnaird College, Pakistan, 2018; MBS in Business and Data Science, Rutgers Business School, 2023) is a Research Scientist in the Community Health and Aging Outcomes Lab. She leads the development of analytic workflows for NIH-funded population health research, building SAS and R pipelines that use Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) claims and assessment data within secure computing environments, including the CMS Virtual Research Data Center and the Rutgers Clinical Research Data Warehouse. Her methodological work includes data harmonization, group-based trajectory modeling, machine learning, and sequence analysis of care trajectories, supporting studies of health disparities, dementia care, and end-of-life care among older adults. She brings over 14 years of professional experience across software engineering, IT project management, and research data science, having previously led development of web and mobile systems in e-commerce, digital banking, leasing solutions, payment gateways, and credit risk rating.
