Duy Nguyen, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW is an Associate Professor of Social Work and Associate Dean at Sacred Heart University. He is a gerontological social work researcher who focuses on the health and mental health needs of older Asian Americans. Dr. Nguyen earned his BA and MSW degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. Prior to SHU, he held faculty appointments at New York University, Columbia University and Temple University. In addition to teaching, Dr. Nguyen has also practiced social work at a community mental health center. He previously served as director of The Council of Social Work Education’s Minority Fellowship Program.
