Lifang has a PhD in Economics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and a Master’s in Statistics & Applied Mathematics from Hunter College. Her graduate studies included advanced coursework in Data Analysis, Multivariable Analysis, Mathematical Statistics, Sampling Theory, Linear Models, and Probability Theory. She has over a decade of quantitative research experience in various institutions, including most recently in the Division of Translational Epidemiology at the NY State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University, where she supported the NIH-funded portfolio for multiple senior principal investigators, including Dr. Mark Olfson. In her previous role, she specialized in interpreting analytic findings, writing data analysis methodology sections for research papers, and designing and conducting data analyses with result visualizations for publication.
