Rutgers Global Health Institute

Improving health and healthcare by combatting the climate health crisis through research, education, and community-oriented action.

Overview

Rutgers Global Health Institute was established in 2017 by director Richard Marlink. The institute is part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Its creation was inspired by the university’s and Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences’ strategic plans, which placed emphasis on global health.

We have more than 150 affiliated faculty and professional members from across Rutgers and its health system as well as from our community partner organizations. We also convene the Rutgers Global Health Institute Collaborators Network, which comprises the global health offices and global health-related centers throughout the university.

“Rutgers Global Health Institute was formed as a universitywide convener
and catalyst, designed to advance and implement global health efforts
across disciplines, schools, and campuses. And by “global health,” we really
mean any efforts to confront health inequities, no matter where in the world
they occur.”
