Summer Internship Program in Biomedical Informatics and Health AI: 2027 RFA

Request for Project Applications from Rutgers Health Faculty

The Rutgers Center for Biomedical Informatics and Health AI is soliciting project applications for the Summer Internship initiative, designed to provide a platform for undergraduate and MS Rutgers students to participate in hands-on projects focused on Biomedical Data Science and Health AI, and introduce students to careers in Computational Biomedicine and AI in Healthcare.

• Each internship is a nine-week summer program.

• All Rutgers Health faculty (PIs) are eligible to submit a research project proposal.

• Seven (7) projects will be selected. PIs will identify the best BS and MS students to participate as interns.

• The program will culminate in a Summer Internship Symposium where projects will be presented by the participating students.

Projects Selected: December 14, 2026

Student Applications Accepted: December 18, 2026 – January 25, 2027

Student Interviews: January 25 – February 22, 2027

Students Selected: By March 12, 2027

Internship: June 1 – July 30, 2027

Symposium: July 30, 2027
