Benjamin Bates, MD is an Instructor of Medicine and Epidemiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and the Rutgers School of Public Health. He is the Co-Chair of the Cancer SIG and member of International Steering Committee for ISPE’s Asian Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology. His research leverages large databases, including claims, registries, and electronic health records, as well as mixed methods, to evaluate cancer treatments, care, and health outcomes of patients with cancer. His current NCI-funded research examines treatment disruptions and health outcomes among people with breast cancer following severe storms and develops strategies to reduce treatment disruptions and respond to health needs.
