Business and Grants Management

The Institute for Health’s Business and Grants Management Core handles both complexities of grant management and human resources necessary for continued research development and advancement of translational health knowledge. The Core works with investigators step-by-step on pre- and post-grant awards to offer guidance on compliance with Rutgers University and funding agencies, including NIH, RWJF and state agencies. The business team serves as a resource for navigating the details of submission and eventually funding to ensure investigators and their research teams are able to fulfill expectations of their funding agency. Recruitment and onboarding of faculty, research analysts, and other staff is facilitated with the help of human resources. The administration team helps with postings of positions, following with review and navigating government and university systems. The team also facilitates the management of space and events within the Institute. From weekly ‘brown bag’ seminars, university workgroups and community health events, the team works to invite groups from the New Jersey population health and health sciences community to create events that encourage knowledge transfer for current research in health. Questions about hosting a community health or collaborative event at the Institute can be directed to Aileen Carroll at Aileen.carroll@ifh.rutgers.edu
