Sanika Rege (MS, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Butler University; PhD, Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes and Policy, University of Houston) is a Research Scientist at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research (Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science). Her responsibilities include creating complex scientific protocols, application of statistical methods, drafting manuscripts/abstracts, and submitting grant proposals with faculty support. She is also involved in overseeing and guiding research activities, supervising project teams, and communicating study findings.
Prior to joining Rutgers, Dr. Rege worked as a Scientist at a healthcare consulting firm OPEN Health where she provided analytical guidance and solutions, used diverse statistical methods for analyzing large claims databases, and developed high-quality deliverables. Dr. Rege also worked as an HEOR intern with AbbVie where she developed protocols, conducted literature review, and analyzed longitudinal national laboratory datasets to help identify trends and gaps in the hepatitis-C care cascade. Additionally, she has worked on pharma-funded projects, and government–sponsored grants, and has mentored pharmacy residents and junior researchers in conceptualizing projects, study designs, and statistical methodologies. She has presented her work at various national and international conferences and has a strong publication background in peer-reviewed journals.
