Dr. Miles is an Instructor at the Institute for Health’s Center for Health Services Research and the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and completed her doctorate in Social Policy at the Brandeis University Heller School for Social Policy and Management. Using primary survey and qualitative data in combination with population-level administrative and health care claims data, her research aims to build a reliable evidence base on effective strategies to increase equitable uptake of evidence-based practices for people with substance use disorders. Her work has been funded by the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the National Institute on Drug Abuse (K99DA057372), and the Preparedness and Treatment Equity Coalition. Her research has been published in high-impact journals such as Health Affairs, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, and JAMA Open.
