Cesar Bandera, PhD
Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship
Martin Tuchman School of Management, New Jersey Institute of Technology

Dr. Cesar Bandera is Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Martin Tuchman School of Management, New Jersey Institute of Technology. His teaching focus is on the establishment and growth of technology start-ups. With the number of university courses in entrepreneurship increasing twenty-fold in the last 25 years, and one third of business incubators affiliated with universities, higher education has become a driver of entrepreneurship ecosystems. University spin-offs and spin-ins, traditionally opportunities for intellectual property licensing, are now opportunities for research translation.

In this talk, Dr. Bandera will discuss cross-campus activities that have brought research results to markets, including collaborative research between NJIT and the Rutgers School of Public Health that has yielded tools for emergency response training and public health outreach (most recently deployed for essential worker coronavirus training). Dr. Bandera will also discuss institutional, State, and Federal policies that promote research translation through entrepreneurship.
