Please join us for our next Brown Bag seminar. We will be joined by Weill Cornell Medicine Postdoctoral Fellow Francesca Falzarano for a seminar on Heterogeneity in dementia family caregiving: Using a developmental approach to identify unmet needs in ADRD caregivers.

Francesca Falzarano, PhD is a NIA-funded post-doctoral fellow in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. She received her PhD in Applied Developmental Psychology from Fordham University, where she studied the influences of dementia care-related stressors on cognitive functioning in family caregivers. Her current research uses a developmental approach to examine the transitory and heterogenous needs of dementia family caregivers through the entire illness trajectory — ranging from diagnosis, progression, to death and bereavement. Dr. Falzarano’s K99/R00 award focuses on the design, implementation, and evaluation of a self-assessment and targeted referral platform, leveraging machine learning and user-centered design, to connect dementia caregivers to supportive services relevant to their areas of need. In this talk, Dr. Falzarano will present on findings from her recent work and discuss directions for future research.
