Join us on Tuesday, February 28, at 1 pm ET for a presentation of the NJ ACTS Special Populations Core 2023 Seminar Series – Treating Pregnant Patients with Opioid Use Disorder with Elizabeth Suarez, PhD, MPH.

In this talk, Dr. Elizabeth Suarez will review treatments for opioid use disorder in pregnancy, focusing on the evidence for safety of pharmacologic treatments. She will highlight a recent paper comparing neonatal and maternal outcomes among pregnant patients treated with buprenorphine and methadone in a Medicaid population.

Dr. Suarez is a pharmacoepidemiologist focused on studying the use and safety of medications in pregnancy. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MPH in Epidemiology from Boston University. She is currently a core faculty member of the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Treatment Science at Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research.
