Join us on Tuesday, April 16, at 12 pm ET for a presentation of the NJ ACTS Special Populations Core 2024 Seminar Series – NYU-HEAL: Academic-Public Partnership to Improve Quality of Care for People with Substance Use Disorders with Charles J. Neighbors, PhD, MBA.

The NYU Health Evaluation and Analytics Lab (NYU-HEAL) is an academic-public partnership that employs research to support improvements to the system of care for individuals with substance use disorders in New York. The initiative uses mixed methods that combine analyses of statewide administrative data (e.g., Medicaid) with qualitative interviews of system stakeholders. The seminar will provide an overview of NYU-HEAL as well as examples of how the partnership informs state policy initiatives.

Charles J. Neighbors, PhD, MBA, is a behavioral scientist who brings together clinical, statistical, and business expertise to understand and inform healthcare reform and its impact on individuals struggling with addictions and mental health disorders. Dr. Neighbors is the director of NYU-HEAL and an associate professor in NYU Langone’s Department of Population Health. His research focuses on examining quality and efficiency of the current treatment system for substance use disorders (SUDs), studying the impact of system reform efforts and bringing evidence-based interventions to practice.
