Join us on Tuesday, February 27, at 12 pm ET for a presentation of the NJ ACTS Special Populations Core 2024 Seminar Series – The Changing Landscape in Access to Care for Children Hospitalized in Non-Children’s Hospitals and the Resulting Impact to Care for Children in Rural Communities with Corrie McDaniel, DO FAAP.

Over the last 15 years the number of hospitals providing pediatric services has contracted substantially. The ripple effect impacts patients, hospitals, and communities. Understanding these trends and their implications can inform strategic policy making and improve quality of care for children in rural communities.

Dr. Corrie McDaniel is an Associate Professor of pediatrics with the University of Washington School of Medicine and a pediatric hospitalist with Seattle Children’s Hospital. She completed her medical school training at Midwestern University followed by a pediatrics residency and chief year with Advocate Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. She is a funded Investigator with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality assessing strategies to address inpatient disparities for children in rural communities and non-children’s hospitals. She is an advisory board member with the American Academy of Pediatric’s Pediatric Acute and Critical Care Quality Network and an Assistant Editor for Hospital Pediatrics.
