Christopher G. Rowan PhD, is the Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at COHRDATA. He is a pharmacoepidemiologist, biostatistician, and outcomes researcher by training. His research vision is to generate evidence, using real-world data that decision-makers and industry partners may use to guide evidence-based decisions.

Chris is experienced conducting observational research using large electronic health record (EHR) and administrative claims databases (US and UK). He has experience in pharmacoepidemiology, comparative effectiveness/safety research, predictive modeling, methodologic investigations, and health services research. His research proficiencies include study design, research methodology, statistical analysis, causal inference, and interpretation of observational research.

Chris has a strong publication track-record. Some of his recent publications include: comparative effectiveness/safety studies in diabetes, cardiovascular, and autoimmune disease; predictive modeling studies in COPD and hypertension; and methodologic investigations involving propensity scores and an assessment of the validity of EHR prescribing data.

Chris conducted his doctoral studies in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania. He received the Saul Winegrad award for outstanding dissertation. Chris conducted a pre-doctoral fellowship at the FDA in the Division of Drug Risk Evaluation. He is an Associate Faculty at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research at Rutgers and active member of ISPE. He serves as a regular reviewer for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety.
