Kristen Lloyd (M.P.H., Rutgers School of Public Health) is a Senior Research Scientist at the Rutgers Center for State Health Policy where she provides data management, statistical analysis, and project management support for various lines of research. She has several years’ experience in monitoring and evaluating health system performance improvements in NJ’s Medicaid program using large datasets of Medicaid claims and encounters. She also investigates environmental determinants of childhood obesity among urban youth as part of the NJ Child Health Study, bringing together rich data at several levels of the socioecological model from public sources and primary data collection efforts. She has expertise in the preparation and analysis of in-house and national survey data to inform policymakers on factors that impact access to medical care, particularly disparities in access by immigration status, race/ethnicity, and insurance coverage. Prior to joining the Center, she worked for the Rutgers School of Public Health as a Project Coordinator for a retrospective cohort study investigating racial disparities in breast cancer treatment. She received her M.P.H. with a concentration in Epidemiology from the Rutgers School of Public Health.
