Dr. Shana Cole completed her Ph.D. in Social Psychology at New York University in 2014. She currently is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and director of the Regulation Action and Motivated Perception (RAMP) Lab. Dr. Cole’s research explores the underlying social cognitive and perceptual processes that aid goal pursuit. She uses a multi-method approach to test the ways in which motivated cognitive and perceptual processes enable people to mitigate threats, attain rewards, and resist temptations. She explores these issues across various domains, including dieting, exercise, smoking, romantic relationships, race, and politics.
